My little contribution to a brilliant, collaborative fairy tale project.
fairy-tale:

“Please, please, you may climb upon my back.” The creature bowed his long neck for the brothers to climb up whilst still being careful not to get snow in his beard.
“I am Majoram”, the orange beast smiled mystically over his shoulder, as they stomped off at a swift pace. The brothers introduced themselves and explained how they had been trying to reach the summit of the mountain.
“Oh” said Majoram, “You’ll not reach the summit now, not with the forest under Chutney’s power, it grows all over the sides of the mountain like facial hair. Only her twin…” Majoram stopped talking and an expression of concern passed over his long prickly face. All around them extraordinary and unnaturally coloured animals began to appear, watching them closely.
“I’ve never seen a squirrel like that before!” exclaimed the bearded brother giddily.
“Nor have I” whispered Majoram suspiciously, “It’s happening already…”
